The Best Events in Snowdonia

Posted by: 4realAdmin on March 17th, 2014

If you are planning your holidays for the summer season and are thinking of staying in caravan parks in Snowdonia you are in for a treat.

North Wales has a number of high quality holiday parks throughout the region but caravan parks in Snowdonia remain some of the best. This is because they are perfect for those who really love to get close to nature and stay in tranquil, serene natural areas.

Staying in beautiful spacious caravan, cabins and lodges surrounded by woods, hills and waterfalls is a wonderful experience and the best part is you are never from nature or the best festivals anywhere around.

In addition to being well known for its spectacular natural beauty Snowdonia is also known for its incredible festivals. Both sporting festivals and music reign supreme here.

There are some big festivals coming near caravan parks in Snowdonia in 2014 that you will not want to miss:

Sci Fi Weekender-28th March-29th March 2014

This is a fantastic weekend for anyone who enjoys sci-fi and comic-con style entertainment. You may have thought this kind of festival is not something you would find in the rural depth of Snowdonia but it is in fact in its 5th year. If you love sci-fi and fantasy you will want to book tickets to this great event soon. There is great opportunity to buy comics and memorabilia, dress up and meet your favourite authors.  This festival takes place in Pwllheli in Snowdonia.

All Wales Boat Show 30th May-1st June 2014

The All Wales Boat Show takes place in coastal North Wales in the historic town of Conwy just north of the Snowdonia region. It is the perfect festival for all water sports enthusiasts. Not only do sportsmen and women come from all over Wales but crowds, exhibitors and participants are also attracted from the West Midlands, Isle of Man, North West England and Ireland. This is a very popular festival that receives on average 3500 visitors a day for its duration so you will want to purchase tickets in advance. Every year more is added to this unique festival to transform it into a water sports extravaganza! This is a great outdoor event for the start of the summer season.

Snowdonia Arts Festival-14th June-15th June 2014

This festival makes a great alternative to those who are less sports minded. This celebration of Welsh art is highly linked to Snowdonia’s history. For thousands of years art has been produced in great variety and skill from those living in and visiting Snowdonia. Betws-Y-coed and the Conwy valley in Snowdonia are great places for discovering art and this is the festivals fourth year.

Wakestock-11th July-13th July 2014

Wakestock is the biggest wakeboarding and music festival in Europe and it has now been running for 13 years. 2014 will be its fourteenth. This is a superb combination of sporting talent, amazing displays on the water and great music. If you love wakeboarding or just love watching people skim and flip across the Snowdonia coast waves or even if you just love great music festivals you will not want to miss Wakestock. This is one of the biggest, most well known and most unique festivals in Snowdonia. Wakestock takes place over several sites although there is usually a shuttle bus on offer to transport people from the different beaches and music areas. Abersoch Bay will be hosting much of the wakeboarding excitement this year.

Glass Butter Beach Festival-15th August-16th August 2014

Since Snowdonia is a centre for the best music festivals there are plenty on offer besides Wakestock. The Glass Butter Beach music festival is a fantastic festival not only because of the great music and atmosphere but North Wales is famous for great music surrounded by uniquely breath-taking countryside. Glass Butter Beach festival is on the Lleyn Peninsula which is a sight all visitors to Snowdonia should see.

Festival No6-5th Sept-7th September 2014

There is not much time left until the line-up for the Festival No6 is announced. This is a festival with a difference. Set in the strange and beautiful town of Portmeirion it offers a classy boutique festival experience you cannot find anywhere else. Along with the best music expect champagne and oysters rather than lager and burgers.  Arts, culture, music, food and much more envelop this gorgeous Mediterranean style town set in the depths of Snowdonia.

Snowdonia Marathon-26th October 2014

Entries are now already full for this epic endurance race. The Snowdonia marathon is a big test of athleticism and truly pushes participants to their limits. Those who are used to seeing town and cities races will be astounded at the physical tests this mountain race provides along with its incredible scenery.
